What Are the Benefits of Having a Home Generator During the Holidays?

There is much that you must do to prepare your home for the holiday season. You must cook a significant amount of food, and you also need to make sure that your home is comfortable for guests. You may also want to consider having a home backup generator installed as part of your holiday prep. Having a residential generator can offer you all of the following benefits.

Protection Against Power Surges

Power surges are among the most common reasons that electronics and appliances are damaged, and storms are not the only thing that causes them. Power surges are the result of electricity spiking in your home’s electrical system, and these electricity spikes can occur when your power goes out and then suddenly comes back on.

Power outages are common during the holiday season because this is a period when the electrical grid gets a lot of use. All of this use can result in the power grid becoming overloaded and failing. If you have a backup generator installed, you will have protection against power surges because your generator will kick on as soon as you lose power.

Improved Home Safety

It is no secret that the crime rate increases during the holiday season, and this includes home break-ins. Because of this, you must take measures to make certain your home remains safe and secure. Having a backup generator will ensure that your walkway and outdoor security lights don’t go dark during power outages. If you have a security system, your generator will also keep that powered continuously, giving you peace of mind that your home is always protected.

Prevent Your Food From Spoiling

Imagine that you have guests staying over at your house. You have a plethora of food that you will be serving, but it all becomes spoiled because of losing power. A backup generator will prevent food spoilage because your refrigerator will continue to run even when the power is out.

Continuous Power

Backup generators are wired into your home’s electrical system and your gas panel if you have one. Because backup generators are wired directly into your home, they will kick on as soon as the power grid ceases delivering power, ensuring that your home remains powered continually.

If you do not currently have a backup generator installed in your home, you may want to consider having one installed before the busy holiday season. At Fisher Electric in Santa Cruz, our highly skilled electricians will do the job correctly and ensure your 100% satisfaction, so give us a call today to set up an appointment.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mike bid our solar panel job soon after we contacted him. He did the job right the first time and got through a complicated permit process without a problem. His crew all worked hard together to finish as planned. We had definite ideas about how we wanted things done and everyone in the crew tried to make sure we were happy with the job. The company provided great service.

We subsequently hired Fisher Electric for two other jobs and they did excellent work.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fisher Electric helped us by removing a power wall on our house so we could do some needed siding repair. They came at the scheduled time and following the removal they came at the time we had previously scheduled to reinstall the power wall.

Everything went very well and we appreciate the service they gave us

Verified I had a great experience with Fisher Electric and highly recommend them. I needed a 240V plug installed on short notice, and even though I called over the weekend, Jonathon was able to get the job done by Tuesday. They were incredibly easy to schedule, arrived right on time, and offered very fair pricing. Thanks for the excellent service!

Verified Personally, I would give "Fisher Electric" more stars if I could..nowadays it's not easy finding a company with excellent personnel, starting with the owner, Mike and the two electricians who worked with him, Ernesto and Rafael. They were prompt, knowledgeable, professional and personable..Thank you for a great job!! We definitely will recommend you and keep you in our "contacts" for future work!
